{ Blog Lift }

Paper Ink-pressions has under gone a temporary blog lift!

Whilst traveling the streets of Bloggyland, Lindsay of L. Miller Designs
sense of style held appeal for me through her use of...

exhilerating combination of color
textured {side} borders
elegantly simple post signature
stylized blog button
&
organized tabs for a clutter free professional appearance.

Lindsay's 2nd blog The Miller Experience held appeal for me through
her use of...

vibrant combination of color
wallpaper of black medallions over-lapping top & bottom
of blog background with thin black frame containing blog header and blog post within...
classy sophisticate!

Lindsay's 3rd blog, Bella Bleu appealed to me through her use of...

detailed coloration of {side} borders
post icon with shadow detail
colored blog header with color details
&
four-sided frame containing blog header and post

Lindsay's in the process of designing an elegant classy sophisticated
"blog lift" to Paper Ink-Pressions!
Hopeful our new blog lift will inspire the creativity to flow again.

Thank-you, Lindsay for embracing the challenge!

{ Not Upto Snuff }

Awoke this morning feeling quite miserable with a doozy of a head cold...
Gathered a few necessities to get me back on my feet.
Hubby offered to assist me by playing Mr. Mom and candy striper for the day.
No... I assured him I'd find my muster and rally. After driving Sophie to school, re-arranging my schedule... I was off to the couch for a bit of r and r.

Ever so much to do! Suppose the germ-O's could care less...
I've been creative with my paper, ink and stamps.
Unfortunately...
it will have to await another day to be shared.

Horrible, No Good, Rotten Week...

My humble apologies for lack of posting last week! There was so much to do between snowstorms last week.

As if weather and such weren't enough... our washing machine decided to take a l-o-n-g sabbatical Saturday AM in the middle of a load! ACK!!! What do you mean you need a rest after only 11 years of service?! We managed to shop (does it come in RED -or- PINK), purchase, install and un-install old and new in a day prior to the next storm blowing in... much EARLIER than anticipated! *rolls eyes* Here's to a better week ahead! *wink*

Stay tuned for more eye candy to come. In the meantime... you can view a sample of my work
for Cornish Heritage Farms booth at CHA here...
I appreciate your checking in on me.

Random -OR- Weird...

Whom tagged me? None other than my two dear friends Sue and Keri!

Here are the rules: • Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. • Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them. • Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. • Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven random or weird facts...

1. A Coughing jag almost always usually ends with a single sneeze!

2. Braces have been a part of my life for the past 7 3/4 years and still counting! Add the orthodontist check-up right along beside the yearly mammogram, pap smear & dental cleaning.

3. Definitely not your stero-typical mall rat. I dislike shopping of every kind with the exception of stamps or stamp related items! *wink*

4. My tales of woe generally send others into fits of laughter.

5. A large portion of my height consists of 31 inches of all leg.

6. At sixteen I passed the written and driving portions of my test with 100%. Parallel parking was the driving portion... I was absent the day our driving instructor covered this section!

7. I hope one day to travel to FRANCE to visit with my dear friend, Jennie!

8. I do not snore... I stayed up one whole night just to find out! *snicker*

BONUS - Be sure to check-out the comments section of this post to learn more entertaining facts, as my friends will be adding their 2 cents I'm sure! *LOL*

The majority of bloggers I know or visit have been tagged already! HOWEVER if you've not been tagged... you have now! *wink*

On another note... If you remember this post HERE ? I will be posting my creation by tomorrow morning at the very latest, whether it kills me or not! *LOL* Thanks for having patience with me... Lynette!

Enjoy your day doing whatever makes you happy.

I look forward to our next visit. Until then...

Final Share...

Of my CHF Design Team Submissions, that is... *wink*

It's been rather busy over at Cornish Heritage Farms these days, not allowing Lisa a spare moment to continue with her Dreams of Designing Series. *sad face* This would be like having your favorite television show end in suspense the week prior only to have it postponed the next week for a Special Report with the President?! *bulging eyeballs* Say What!

Never having served on a design team before... I had no understanding of the process in which the panel may be critiquing the designs of a designer for their company? Being practical and a bit analytical... I took the time of year and different occasions into consideration when submitting my designs.

The photography used for my submissions wasn't rocket science. It doesn't require having the finest equipment, however you should always invest in a mid-range camera at the time of purchase if your pocketbook allows. Using two sheets of 12 X 12 Bazzill scrapbook paper and a bit of natural lightening (non-direct sun, whenever possible) is the best and inexpensive resource I've found. However, winter's coming! *wink*

When in doubt use "common sense" whenever possible. It's not failed me yet... Be sure to stop by this week for "sneak peeks" of some Cornish Heritage Farms NEW RELEASES I've been working on! *Cheshire smile* Sshhh... it's a secret you'll want to spread around to your friends! Their blog watching and lip reading... Sshhh... *wink*

Enabling... aw... maybe a smidge, but only if you go here, here and here or even here to see what few of my fellow design team members are creating for your viewing pleasure! No favorites, no sequential order and you can be sure I'll be sharing more of my other CHF Sistahs designs with all of you! *wink*
I look forward to our next visit. Until then...

Sitting On The Fence...

Do I, don't I... share this with all of you?! Why not! So here's another of my CHF submissions.

The reason for mentioning this is Lisa Strahl of Mona Lisa Moments is writing a series of posts called Dreams of Designing. If you're looking to work as a designer for a rubber stamp company... then you WON'T want to miss her incredible insight she's offering everyone! Even at my age of thirty-nine years (young), I'm eager to learn more! *wink* Looking forward to Lisa critiquing my submissions for better insight as well! So be gentle with me... *wink*

Lisa's second post in this series is Thinking Outside the Box ! After seeing Lisa's and Dawn's jaw dropping creations... it's a wonder how I was ever chosen for this team?! If there's one thing I've learned, it's listen, absorb and draw from those around you. The day we stop learning, is the day we stop living!

After you've finished visiting Lisa's blog, why not take a look at Cornish Heritage Farms rubber images and let me know a few of your favorites?! I'm making my list and checking it twice... *wink* If your interested in all the dirt going on behind the scenes, then you won't want to miss the Cornish Heritage Farms Public Forum for announcements, techniques, swaps, etc... Enjoy! *wink*

Well, it's been real and it's been fun... Now I must work on four swap deadlines looming before me all prior to becoming a design team member! *deer caught in headlamps moment* So when you find I'm NOT posting... I'll be stamping creations to post! *wink*

Supplies List: Old Olive, Close to Cocoa and ivory cardstock, VersaMark, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Really Rust and Chocolate Chip ink, SU! Fine Lace, Houndstooth and Linen background stamps, PSX "Bountiful Thanksgiving" image (retired) and single falling leaf, Accessories: Brown brads and May Arts stitched olive ribbon.
I look forward to our next visit. Until then...

Paris In New Hampshire...

A day of play...

Finally... nice enough weather to take a little trip over to Kimble Island on Asquam Lake today. This is the very lake that On Golden Pond was filmed with Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn. *wink*

Last summer during our two weeks of swim lessons we met three generations of the nicest women from Paris, France. Jenny and myself became fast friends... our ties that bind... our love of a homemade craft! Even though our crafts are different. Jenny's the most beautiful seamstress and quilter you ever met. Jenny's mom sat poolside knitting the most intricate Christmas stocking for her granddaughter Sophie! *wink*

My friend, Jenny and her family have been visitiing here in New Hampshire for years, in a cabin inherited by her grandfather or maybe that's great-grandfather... *rubs head to stimulate memory*

Sophie's going to love playing with Jenny's two daughters and nieces! I'm going to enjoy my wonderful friend's company... it will be a long winter before we next meet!

Off to make a fresh blueberry cake for our hosts! Not the Paris you thought.... *wink*

I look forward to our next visit. Until then...

Nor'Easter Took A Wrong Turn...

Were there no signs letting this Nor' Easter know that it had somehow taking a wrong turn a mile or two back down the road a piece?! Now I ask you... does New Hampshire look like Oswego, New York... *rolling eyes*

Yesterday WMUR News 9 was warning New Hampshire of an impending Nor'Easter that would leave us with anywhere from 12 to 24 inches of snow starting after midnight. Well... who really knew... they've certainly been wrong before! *wink* I decided that stockpiling the pantry with a few groceries wouldn't be fool hardy, finishing up Valentine's shopping... just in case and of course a trip to visit my friends Betty and Liz over at Stamping Memories... after all one must get their priorities right if one is to be snowed in for a day! *wink*

When we awoke at 5 AM this morning we had been upgraded to a Blizzard Watch and were now expecting 15 to 30 inches in our area with 30 mile per hr winds by noontime. Dave decided that he could use a day off from work. All of New Hampshire's school's were closed!

We started our day off with French toast in the shape of hearts, slathered in butter and a generous portion of REAL maple syrup... YUM, YUM! *wink* Then I started working on printing and cutting the names for our blog candy give-a-way. I thought I'd snap a photo of Sophie drawing the winning names, but the camera batteries were deader than a doornail... UGH!!!! Didn't something like this happen around New Year's day?! Oh, well... I'll just have to wait until later to update my blog, if we don't experience a power outage! Those were my thoughts. The camera batteries were finally charged and it was starting to get dark when I snapped this photo of the severe weather to share with all of you. Well, wouldn't you know along came a state plow truck and do you think he'd slow down to pose for you? The snow wouldn't cooperate either... the nerve...

Due to the weather... Valentine's has been officially postponed until Saturday for our household! I will still be sharing Valentine's AFTER the fact... hope you won't mind?

Wishing you all a wonderful Valentine's Day! This sure won't be one we'll be forgetting anytime soon...

I look forward to our next visit. Until then...

Finally...

Our forecaster was telling us to brace ourselves for a good 8 inches of snow by Monday; Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Once again... it appears that it's going to be a wintery mix that's going to create some seriously bad traveling for folks. We might only see three inches by tomorrow. Safe travels everyone. I guess we won't be needing our shovels afterall...

I look forward to our next visit. Until then...

Update as of 1/16... We didn't reach the estimated 8 inches as forecasted. We experienced a severe wintery mix throughout our day making the roads rather messy for traveling. As of 5 AM this morning we are expecting windchill factor to reach 30 below zero. The southern part of New Hampshire experienced an ice storm that left upwards of 24,000 people without electricity... as the old saying goes... "Wait five minutes and the New England weather will change!" Stay safe and here's to the return of power soon. I'll take snow any day over ice!

*If anyone out there in bloggyland knows how to remove these borders around my smileys I'd sure appreciate the help... thanks!*

The Beginning Of My Journey...

After much thought and viewing of many incredible blogs recently... I decided that creating a blog would be a wonderful outlet to share stamped inspirations, family festivities, corners of our home, tried and true recipes and just keeping in touch with family and friends of any distance. I hope you will accompany me on my journey down the rubber road?!

Here's to yet another 'first' in my life!
